Recently, I read an interesting article written about a son reflecting his times with his father, who died at a young age of 27.

This father was bedridden, but had not lost hope of his future hoping to spend more quality time with his wife, and his son in the years to come. At the same time, he was also getting a sense of the reality that his days were numbered due to his ill-health.

While his 8.5 years old son visited to see him during this bedridden time, this father talked to his son as if he will be out of the hospital making plans for the future with his son, though he had figured out the eventuality that was in store for him. When his son kept on asking whether he would die, he never said yes to that question.

During this death bed period, this father had written a series of letters to be shared to his son at different times of his growing up including a section on this time of his life, which was shared later to this son to keep the memories intact.

Is this dishonesty?

There is an ancient, well-established and powerful philosophical saying, "Straight trees are cut first", which could be interpreted as honest people being the first one to get booted out of an organization..

There are also true stories of honest people (as considered by a larger section of global population) coming out with flying colors well after the supposed timeline of this saying.

In this changing world, where yesteryear role models could be considered naive and unsophisticated, and where lies and rumors could spread at speeds unlike in the past, should people need to be honest in this century, and the future centuries? Let us discuss and debate.

Vamos a discutir y debatir.

Om贸wmy i debatujmy.
