Also, there was an increase in alternatives, while technology offerings in this space, and technological innovations especially in the smartphone industry ramped up.

It would be awesome, as pointed out years back, if we were to see an increase in ISPs not connected to media companies, and other conglomerates. That would certainly further tilt the balance, provided there is no indirect collusion.
