But, there needs to be a working oversight administered by individuals, who understand the real meaning of education (and, preferably experienced and excelled in that arena through perseverance and hard work) to restrict cronyism in a place, where you want the least. Remember, with education also being impacted by "commoditization" of commercialization, there are stories of individuals out there who buy PhDs in the easiest way possible to hold administrative roles.

Added to it, there needs to be a healthy competition.

By the way, we also need to understand that there are educated fools, and smarty self interested "supposedly" educated individuals, who are least needed in this arena of administration, if education needs to be meaningful and relevant.
