That is the story around the globe. Ramanujan, Tesla, Curie and many more. Even their own people did not support them during times of adversity, and did not know the value of their contributions.
When there are extraordinary minds, those minds could be appreciated only when those contributions are understood or valued, as stated earlier.
To understand the value of that contribution, other minds should have the knowledge, skills and ability to understand.
Most importantly, even if someone has the ability to understand those valuable contributions, that person should have an open mind and willingness to accept and promote those extraordinary minds.

ReplyDeleteI have done reasonable research on my own on Mahakavi, and the take home message from your post for me, more than the details, is that, Bharathi was a great thinker during those non-search engine days, and has transcend time (at least for around 100+ years.)
BTW, as per some sources, it appears that he knew 32 languages and was the first national poet of India. His work might be connected to part of the lyrics of Adele's recent song.
