Yes, to a certain extent. It would be better to communicate that rightness in a peaceful way at the right time that the other side could understand, provided you believe that the issue is more of a miscommunication. At some point or the other, the rightness needs to come out, otherwise peace would not prolong for too long, and you could be mischaracterized anyway.
Note of caution: the word, Right, is subjective, and that is why it should be a dialogue between the two sides involved, rather than one-sided communication.
