More than birthplace, environment is more important for our perception, in general, and also for our visual perception, along with exposure and experience.

For example, a baby born in US for parents visiting US for a short period, and immediately going back to their hometown that has a distinctly different culture, and grows up over there will be largely influenced by the environment (of different kinds) rather than the birthplace.

Birthplace comes into effect only depending on how much influence that place has on the family first, and then the child, who grows up looking up to the parents in early life.
